Backwash effect is the contrary effect of economic development in an area on other regions in the same national economy. The area which has been developing are being attracted by the capital and people especially labour from other regions, as a result centralization of economic activity is centrally only on the developing area. It makes a huge gap between the regional economic and developing area.
